I don’t generally like reading challenges, I tend to get excited about certain ones initially, but in reality I find them to be somewhat off-putting. I like to have a bit more freedom when it comes to choosing what to read, and I can sometimes get overwhelmed when I’m attempting to shoehorn books into categories on a bingo board, thus abandoning the project entirely.
That being said, the Let Us Read Middle Grade 2021 Reading Challenge hosted by Annemieke from A Dance With Books seems to be right up my alley. The challenge is simple, read as many middle grade books in 2021 as possible. I usually do have a few middle grade books on my TBR list so this does sound like a fun challenge.
I have a few books in mind for this: City Of Bones, Maze Runner, and A Wrinkle In Time in particular. I also think it might be fun to go back and re-read some of the books I loved when I was in middle school and see if they still measure up. I remember being mildly obsessed with Both Sides Of Time at one point, so I have added that to the list.
Are there any middle grade books you would recommend?
Going back to some previously loved ones is always a good idea! Thank you for joining!
