Top Ten Tuesday was created by The Broke and the Bookish and is hosted by That Artsy Reader Girl. This week’s prompt is reasons I love to read, but I decided to tweak it slightly and do the ten books that made me fall in love with reading. I wasn’t always a big reader when I was younger, but I was the kid that loved the books we were assigned to read in English class, and there were plenty of other books that I loved.

- Famous Five – Five On A Treasure Island by Enid Blyton. I loved the Famous Five series. I read all the books, watched every episode of the tv show, collected those annual things that came out every year, and when I wasn’t doing that I was out playing pretending to be part of the Famous Five.
- Twins by Caroline B. Cooney. This book terrified me when I first read it, but I kept going back to it over and over again.
- Holes by Louis Sachar. I read this in year 8 as part of my English classwork, and I remember loving it so much. The rest of my class hated it, but I read it at least three times before I had to give it back to the school.

- Goosebumps by R.L. Stine.
- The Secret Seven by Enid Blyton. Like the Famous Five, although I didn’t like this series quite as much.
- The Sleepover Club by Rose Impey.
- The Suitcase Kid by Jacqueline Wilson. I read this book after my parents got divorced, and it helped me through it. I was a huge fan of all the Jacqueline Wilson books, but The Suitcase Kid has a special place in my heart.

- Both Sides Of Time by Caroline B. Cooney. I think this was the first romance type book I read. It involves time travel and a love story.
- The Story Of Tracy Beaker by Jacqueline Wilson.
- Animal Ark by Ben M. Baglio.
Great list! I used to love the Jacqueline Wilson books so much. And I have great memories of reading the Famous Five at my granny’s house growing up.

Glad I’m not the only one. I’ve been starting to read some Jacqueline Wilson ones with my daughter, slowly turning her into a fan.

I love your choice of topic! It’s so important to have engaging children’s books that show kids how fun and rewarding reading can be. Caroline Cooney is an author I used to adore as well.
Happy TTT!

You have several I was obsessed with as a kid on this list: Animal Ark, The Sleepover Club, Tracy Beaker, The Suitcase Kid (I loved Jacqueline Wilson’s books in general, I devoured them as a kid). I did like Enid Blyton but I only ever read The Faraway Tree books, I didn’t read The Famous Five or The Secret Seven.
